Regulation

Restrictions:

No access to documents later than 9 October 1958 (the death of Pope Pius XII).

  • Each year at the first visit to ARSI, the researcher must register and provide a proof of identity, and a letter of recommendation

  • Those using manuscript material must have the competence to read the documents provided. Staff will provide only limited assistance

  • The use of pens is prohibited
  • Fooddrinks and sharp instruments are prohibited in the reading room

Reservations

The Archive is open Mon-Fri 9AM-4PM

Initially the capacity will be limited to 10 scholars upon reservation.

To reserve a place, please email: gro.airucj[email protected]i-isra. Please indicate in the email the dates in which you would like to have access to the Archive and attach a detailed description of the research project (especially if it is a first visit to the Archive).

The use of a mask is recommended.

The reservation will be considered valid only after having received confirmation from ARSI by email. In view of the large number of requests, you are kindly asked to make a reservation only for those days in which your presence in ARSI is guaranteed.

Yearly Schedule 2022-2023 (Dates are inclusive)

The archive will be closed on the following days:

  • Wednesday 15 March (work meeting)
  • From Monday 3 April to Monday 10 April 2023 (Holy Easter)
  • Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 April 2023 (Liberation Day)
  • Monday 1 May 2023 (International Workers’ Day)
  • Friday 2 June 2023 (Republic Day)
  • Thursday 29 and Friday 30 June 2023 (Saints Peter and Paul)
  • From Friday 28 July to Friday 15 September 2023 (summer closing)

Any change in the daily schedule will be immediately communicated to readers.
