The catalogus defunctorum (lists of Jesuits dead) are an useful repertory for biographical research. Indeed you can find inside them information about the place and date of death and also information about the Province of appartence, which is an essential information because the main fonds held by ARSI are organized geographically, in the same way as the Catalogs of the New Society.
